Origine is the result of a collaboration between PAïSAN and Rivalin. This collaboration embodies a return to essentials, using local materials and valuing artisanal know-how.
Inspired by the history of the first charentaises, the Origine model is made from scraps of wool fabric used for the uniforms of the French Navy. These charentaises, once called “Silencieuses,” are designed with a minimalist approach: one sole, wool fabric, and nothing but thread to sew them. Together, PAïSAN and Rivalin advocate for local materials and celebrate the artisans who transform them with passion. Made in our workshop in Quimper, the Charentaise Origine is more than just a slipper; it embodies the Breton cultural heritage while addressing current ecological challenges.
